A centrifugal fan moves air by using a rotating impeller to increase pressure and direct airflow outward. This design allows it to generate higher pressure, making it suitable for systems with resistance, such as dust collection, industrial furnaces, and air filtration.
In contrast, an axial fan moves air parallel to the shaft, similar to a propeller. It is designed for high airflow with low pressure, making it ideal for ventilation, cooling, and large-volume air movement in open spaces.
The main difference lies in performance: centrifugal fans provide higher pressure and stable airflow, while axial fans deliver higher volume but lower pressure. Additionally, centrifugal fans are better suited for handling dust, high temperatures, and more complex industrial environments.
